To a solution of compound 7 (1.85 mmoles) in MeOH (10 mL) aqueous 1M NaOH (3.7 mL) was added. The solution was refluxed overnight then the organic solvent was removed under vacuum, the residue was diluted with H2O and the pH was adjusted to 5 by adding 1M HCl. The mixture was kept at 4° C. overnight then the resulting solid was filtered, washed with fresh water and dried under vacuum to give 2-{[4-({[(5-Methoxy-1H-indazol-3-yl)carbonyl]amino}methyl)piperidin-1-yl]methyl}-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylic acid 8 (43% yield).
