Reaction Steps
Sodium hydroxide (2 M in water, 2 mL, 4.0 mmol) is added to a solution of methyl 3-fluoro-5-(2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropoxyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate (430 mg, 0.1.51 mmol) in THF (15 mL). The reaction is stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction is quenched by the addition of 4 M HCl in dioxane (1.25 mL, 5 mmol) and the solution concentrated to give the crude title compound (476 mg, 99%). ES/MS (m/e): 222.0 (M+1).
