Procedure

7-Fluoro-8-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-1-methyl-4-oxo-1,4-dihydrobenzo[b][1,8]naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid is prepared under the conditions of Application Example 2, but starting with 0.3 g of 7-fluoro-1-methyl-8-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-4-oxo-1,4-dihydrobenzo[b][1,8]naphthyridine-3-carboxamide. After cooling to approximately 20° C., the reaction mixture is treated with 50 cm3 of water; the insoluble matter is drained and washed with twice 10 cm3 of water.

Workup

  1. washwashed with twice 10 cm3 of water
