A solution of pentyl-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-carbamoyl chloride (53) (0.24 g, 0.73 mmole) in 3 mL pyridine was treated with 0.22 g of methyl 6-aminonicotinate (Bionet) and stirred at 40° C. for three days. Volatile materials were removed in vacuo and the residue was subjected to flash chromatography (SiO2, 10%-50% ethyl acetate/hexanes) to yield 37 mg of methyl 6-[3-pentyl-3-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-naphthalen-2-yl)-ureido]-nicotinate (55).
