6.77 g of 1-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)butane-1,2,3-trione 2-oxime (42) were dissolved in 54 ml of acetic acid, after which 0.96 g of hydrazine was added dropwise at RT and the mixture was subsequently stirred at 60° C. for 2 h. Ice was added to the reaction solution, which was then neutralized with sodium carbonate and extracted with MTB-ether. The organic phase was dried over magnesium sulfate and subjected to rotary evaporation. The following was obtained: 43. C12H13N3O3 (247.26); MS (ESI) 248 (M+H)
