Reaction Steps
The nitroxide group on the 4-isobutyl-3-nitro quinoline produced in Example 1 is reduced by catalytic reduction using toluene as solvent, Pd/C5% (50% wet) as catalyst, at 40-45° C. and atmospheric pressure to produce 4-isobutyl 3-amino quinoline. The rate of reaction depends on efficiency of stirring. After catalyst filtration the solution is ready for the next step.
