Reaction Steps
A mixture of 4.74 g (0.0145 mole) of the product of Example 96, 8.6 g (0.0336 mole) of pyridinium chlorochromate, and 70 ml of CH2Cl2 is held at room temperature for 18 hours. The CH2Cl2 solution is decanted and is chromatographed on silica gel using CH2Cl2 as eluent. The first 2 L eluate gives 3.93 g (83.4%) of the desired product as white solid, m.p. 63.5°-65° C.
