Using the procedure of Example 9, the product of Step D and (RS) cyano 2-(6-phenoxy-pyridyl)-methanol were reacted to obtain (RS) cyano 2-(6-phenoxy-pyridyl)-methyl (1R, cis, ΔZ) 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-tert.-butoxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylate with a specific rotation of [α]D20 =+68°±1.5° (c=1% in chloroform).
