Using the procedure of Example 9, (1R, cis, ΔZ) 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-isopropoxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylic acid and (1,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1,3-dioxo-2H-isoindol-2-yl)-methanol were reacted to obtain (1,3,4,5,6,7-hexahydro-1,3-dioxo-2H-isoindol-2-yl)-methyl (1R, cis, ΔZ) 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-isopropoxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylate with a melting point of 94° C. and a specific rotation of [α]D20 =-22.5°±2° (c=0.5% in CHCl3).
