Reaction Steps
Using the procedure of Example 9, (1R, cis, ΔZ) 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-cyclopentyloxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylic acid and (RS) cyano-2-(6-phenoxy-6-pyridinyl)-methanol were reacted to obtain (RS) cyano-2-(6-phenoxy-6-pyridinyl)-methyl (1R, cis, ΔZ) 2,2-dimethyl-3-(3-cyclopentyloxy-3-oxo-1-propenyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylate with a specific rotation of [α]D20 =+42°±1° (c=0.9% in benzene).
