Procedure

A mixture of 3 g (0.009 mol) of product of Example 201 and 7.28 g (0.018 mol) of Lawesson's reagent in 100 ml of toluene was refluxed for 16 days. The reaction mixture was cooled to 25° C., poured into H2O, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was dried (MgSO4), and concentrated in vacuo to 1.4 g of a brown oil. Chromatography using 10% ethyl acetate/cyclohexane as an eluting solvent afforded 0.35 g (11%) of product as a beige solid: mp 129°-131° C.
