Reaction Steps
3-Amino-5-(3,6,9-trioxadecanamido)benzoic Acid [H; T is CH3OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2, Z is OH] was prepared by hydrogenation of 80 g. of 3-nitro-5-(3,6,9-trioxadecanamido)benzoic acid in absolute ethanol in the presence of palladium-on-charcoal catalyst. There was thus obtained 54.7 g. of 3-amino-5-(3,6,9-trioxadecanamido)benzoic acid, m.p. 130.5°-131° C. when recrystallized from isopropyl alcohol.
