A 1.5 g. portion of 6-(m-aminophenyl)-7-methyl-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine (prepared as in Example 6) is dissolved in 30 ml. of pyridine at room temperature. To the solution is added 6.0 ml. of acetic anhydride and the reaction mixture is heated on a steam bath for 1 hour. The reaction mixture is cooled in an ice bath and is filtered. The filter cake is washed with petroleum ether and is dried to afford the product of the example as cream colored crystals, m.p. 298°-301° C.
