Procedure
A mixture of 22.6 parts by weight of 6-methylpyridine-2-carboxaldehyde and 50 parts by weight of 5-diphenylmethyl-3,7-diketo-1,2-dihydro-1,2,5-triazepine in the presence of 800 parts by volume of benzene is heated at reflux temperature for 4 hrs. with continuous water separation. The mixture is first washed with 3N hydrochloric acid, then washed with water and evaporated to dryness to give a residue. Crystallization of this residue from ethanol affords 1-diphenylmethyl-4-(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyleneamino)-3,5-diketopiperazine melting at 161°-163° C. This compound is represented by the following structural formula ##STR8##
