Reaction Steps
4-(4-benzyloxy-3-ethyl-2-phenethyloxyphenoxy)-5-methyl-7-nitroindane was prepared in a similar manner to those described in Example 2 using 3-benzyloxy-2-ethyl-6-(5-methyl-7-nitroindan-4-yloxy)phenol instead of ethyl N-[7-(3-ethyl-2-hydroxy-4-trifluoromethanesulfonyloxyphenoxy)-6-methylindan-4-yl]malonamate and using 2-phenylethanol instead of 4-fluorobenzylalcohol.
