To a mixture of 2-[6-amino-5-(2,6-dichloro-benzyloxy)-pyridin-3-yl]-pyrrole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 6, 30 mg, 0.069 mmol) in ethanol/water (2:1, 10 mL) was added sodium carbonate (100 mg, 0.95 mmol). The mixture was refluxed overnight. The reaction was cooled to ambient temperature and extracted with ethyl acetate. The mixture was washed with water, brine, dried over Na2SO4, and purified on a silica gel column to afford 3-(2,6-dichloro-benzyloxy)-5-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-pyridin-2-ylamine.
