15 ml of pyridine Containing 1.52 g of 4-dimethylamino-4-hydroxymethyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-benzothiophene obtained in Example 1 was cooled with ice, and added with 1.82 g of 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoylchloride. The reaction mixture was then stirred at room temperature for 14 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was poured into water, followed by extracting with chloroform. The chloroform phase was washed with water and dried. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was crystallized from isopropyl ether to obtain 1.87 g of the title compound as colorless crystals.
