| Product | N-Phenyl-p-phenylenediamine | HCID 7564 | — |
Reaction Steps
A solution of 4-(phenylazo)diphenylamine (0.273 g), cyclohexanol (5 g) and potassium t-butoxide (1 g) was heated at reflux under nitrogen for 4 hours. Analysis of the reaction mixture by HPLC indicated all of the 4-(phenyazo)-diphenylamine was consumed. 4-aminodiphenylamine and aniline were produced in 99% yield based on 4-(phenylazo)diphenylamine charged.
