Procedure

To a solution of 3-(benzyloxy)-4-o-tolylbutan-1-ol (3.0 g, 11.11 mmol) in DCM (50 ml) was added DAST (2.9 ml, 22.22 mmol) at 0° C. and stirred at room temperature for 5 h. Then cooled to 0° C. and quenched with NH4Cl (10 ml). The title compound was purified by separation methods A and E. (Yield 1.5 g).
