Reaction Steps

To a solution of N-(2,6-difluoro-3-hydroxy-phenyl)-3-fluoro-5-(3-fluorophenyl)-2-methyl-benzamide (0.9 g, 2.4 mmol, 1.0 eq) in THF (20 mL) under N2 was added a solution of BH3 (1 M in THF, 11.9 mL, 11.9 mmol, 5.0 eq). The reaction mixture was heated at reflux overnight. Methanol was added to quench the reaction and the solution was then concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (900 mg, 100%) which was used without further purification.
