N-(2,6-difluoro-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-phenyl)-2-fluoro-5-(3-fluorophenyl)benzamide (285 mg, 0.76 mmol, 1.0 eq) was dissolved in THF (20 mL). A solution of BH3 (1M in THF, 4.56 mL, 4.56 mmol, 6.0 eq) was added and the reaction mixture heated at 60° C. under nitrogen for 2 h. After cooling, the reaction was quenched with water and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic extracts were washed with water and brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography (petroleum ether: EtOAc, 30:1 to 20:1) to give the title compound as a colorless oil (206 mg, 75%).
