Reaction Steps
To a solution of 4-[4-(1-methylpiperidin-4-yloxy)-9,10-dihydro-4H-3,10a-diaza-benzo[f]azulen-2-yl]-phenylamine (example 16A) (100 mg, 0.258 mmole) in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) is added NEt3 (72 μL, 0.515 mmole) and pivaloylchloride (48 μL, 0.387 mmole). The reaction mixture is stirred at room temperature overnight. Solvent is removed under reduced pressure. AcOEt is added to the residue and the organic phase is washed with water and dried over magnesium sulphate, filtered and the solvent is removed under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by silica gel chromatography using (CH2Cl2:MeOH) as eluent with a gradient from (100:0) to (90:10) to afford 2,2-dimethyl-N-{4-[4-(1-methylpiperidin-4-yloxy)-9,10-dihydro-4H-3,10a-diaza-benzo[f]azulen-2-yl]-phenyl}-propionamide melting at 120° C.
