Benzyl 4-methoxy-3-(N-(2-morpholinoethyl)methylsulfonamido)benzoate (1.5 g, 3.34 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (20 ml), then Pd/C 5% (0.33 mmol, 702 mg) was added, and the mixture was hydrogenated in a Parr apparatus (H2:35 psi) for 30 minutes. The reaction was diluted with CHCl3 (300 ml) and MeOH (300 ml) to dissolve the product that precipitated in MeOH, and the catalyst was filtered over a celite pad, and the solvent is evaporated under vacuum, to yield 700 mg of white solid.
