Reaction Steps

Methyl 3-(4-(N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)methylsulfonamido)phenyl)propanoate (300 mg, 0.86 mmol) was dissolved in THF (3 ml), then LiOH 1N (2 ml) was added, and the mixture was stirred at RT for 6 hours. The reaction was diluted with HCl 1N, and the product was extracted with EtOAc. The organic phase was dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated under vacuum. The crude product was triturated in Petroleum Ether and filtered to give 250 mg of the desired product.
