Procedure

DAST (94 mg, 0.583 mmol) was added to a solution of 2-bromo-7,8-dihydro-6H-benzo[2,3][1,5]oxazocino[5,4-a]indol-7-ol (100 mg, 0.29 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (1 mL) under N2 at −78° C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The mixture was then diluted with water (30 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL×3). The organic layer was washed with brine (20 mL×2), dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting residue was purified using p-TLC (petroleum ether:EA=10:1) to provide 2-bromo-7-fluoro-7,8-dihydro-6H-benzo[2,3][1,5]oxazocino[5,4-a]indole (40 mg, yield: 40.0%). MS (M+H)+: 346/348.
