A solution of N-hydroxy-3,3-dimethoxypropanimidamide obtained in Reference Example 19 (1.0 g, 6.8 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was added to a solution of 5-fluoropyridine-2-carboxylic acid (1.0 g, 7.1 mmol) and carbonyldiimidazole (1.3 g, 8.1 mmol) in DMF (4 mL), which was stirred for 1 hour at 40° C., and the mixture was stirred for 30 minutes. The reaction solution was heated to 90° C. and stirred for 15 hours. Water was added to the reaction mixture, followed by extraction with EtOAc. The organic layer was washed with water and a saturated aqueous solution of sodium chloride, dried over Na2SO4, then the drying agent was filtered off, and then the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by column chromatography (HP-Sil 25 g, hexane/EtOAc=75/25 to 0/100) to obtain the title compound (1.2 g) (colorless solid).
