(S)-1-Methoxypropan-2-ol (0.58 ml, 5.88 mmol) was added drop wise to a mixture of 2,4,5-trichloropyrimidine (0.63 ml, 5.34 mmol) and NaH (60% dispersion in mineral oil, 0.24 g, 5.88 mmol) in THF (10 ml) at room temperature. After 30 minutes the reaction mixture was partitioned between water and DCM, the organic layer washed with water, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated to give the title compound as a yellow-brown oil. (UPLC-MS 7) tR 1.01; ESI-MS 237.0 and 238.9 [M+H]+.
