A mixture of 6-(bis(4-chlorophenyl)methyl)-4-(1-(2,2,2-trifluoroacetyl)-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)quinolin-2(1H)-one (23 mg, 0.041 mmol), Na2CO3 (22.8 mg, 0.165 mmol) in THF (0.8 mL), MeOH (0.5 mL) and a couple of drops of water was stirred at 30° C. for 3 hr. The solvent was evaporated and to the residue was added DCM and water. The organics were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to yield 6-(bis(4-chlorophenyl)methyl)-4-(1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)quinolin-2(1H)-one. (ES, m/z) [M+H]+ 461.1, 463.0.
