Reaction Steps

A solution of tert-butyl 7-oxo-3-oxa-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-9-carboxylate (482 mg, 2 mmol, 1.0 eq) and NH2OH.HCl (462 mg, 3 mmol, 3.0 eq) in EtOH (10 mL) was refluxed for 2 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated to give tert-butyl 7-hydroxyimino-3-oxa-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-9-carboxylate 104b as a white solid, which was used in next step without further purification. MS: calc'd (MH+) 267, measured (MH+) 267.
