LiOH.H2O (442 mg, 10.5 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of tert-butyl 4-(5-((4-(2-(2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)phenethyl)-5-methylpyrimidin-2-yl)amino)pyridin-2-yl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (A18) (115 mg, 0.211 mmol) in water (4 mL) and THF (40 mL) and the resulting mixture heated at 40° C. for 18 hours. On cooling the volatiles were removed in vacuo and the residue taken up in EtOAc (100 mL). The resulting solution was washed with water (100 mL), brine (50 mL) and dried over MgSO4. The volatiles were removed in vacuo to give the title compound A19 as a clear oil (96 mg, 86%); LCMS-A: rt 5.137 min; m/z 532 [M+H]+.
