Reaction Steps

To a solution of intermediate compound 12 (3.8 g, 0.0142 mol) in 100 ml of DCM, 25 ml of triflouroacetic acid were added portionwise at room temperature. The reaction was stirred overnight at room temperature. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was co-evaporated with ethanol. Yielding 4.79 g (100, crude product) of 4-(4,5-bis-hydroxymethyl-4,5-dihydro-isoxazol-3-yl)-pyridin-3-ol (intermediate compound 13).
