(S)-3-(4-Bromo-phenyl)-2-{4-[(naphthalen-1-ylmethyl)-amino]-benzoylamino}-propionic acid methyl ester (273 mg, 0.53 mmol), Pd (PPh3)4 (96 mg, 0.11 mmol), and 4-phenoxyphenylboronic acid (226 mg, 1.1 mmol) were dissolved in 5 mL of toluene, a 1M Na2CO3 solution (1.3 mL, 1.3 mmol) added and the mixture heated at 80° C. for 16 h. The reaction mixture was evaporated to dryness and the crude mixture purified over silica gel (8:2, DCM-hexanes) to give (S)-2-{4-[(naphthalen-1-ylmethyl)-amino]-benzoylamino}-3-(4′-phenoxy-biphenyl-4-yl)-propionic acid methyl ester (107 mg).
