To a solution of 1-{3-[2-chloro-4-({5-[2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl]-5H-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-yl}amino)phenoxy]phenyl}ethanone (233 mg) in methanol (5 mL) was added sodium borohydride (38 mg), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hrs. Water was added to the reaction mixture and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate layer washed with saturated brine and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the obtained residue was crystallized from ethyl acetate-diethyl ether to give the title compound (225 mg) as a white powder.
