A solution of 1.10 g (4.49 mmol) of 4-cyclohexylamino-3-nitrobenzonitrile, Compound 127, and 1.11 g (5.39 mmol) of Me3SnN3 in 50 mL toluene was refluxed overnight. The crystals were collected by filtration, washed with toluene, dried, and treated with 50 mL 4M HCl in dioxane for 4 h. The solids were collected by filtration, washed with dioxane, and dried yielding 1.14 g (88%) red solids. MS: 289.15 (M+H+).
