Procedure
Condensation of 4-pentyn-1-ol and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde O-ethyloxime using Mitsunobu Reaction conditions (see for example J. Med. Chem., 36, 3240, 1993 and references cited therein) gave 3,5-dimethyl4-(4-pentyn-1-yloxy)benzaldehyde O-ethyl oxime in good yield.
