Reaction Steps
Methanesulfonyl chloride (0.00103 mol) was added to a mixture of intermediate (39) (0.00081 mol) and triethylamine (0.0019 mol) in DCM, stirred at 0° C. The reaction mixture was stirred for 30 minutes at 0° C. Water was added. The organic layer was separated, dried, filtered and the solvent was evaporated, yielding 0.208 g of 2,3-dihydro-7-methyl-[1,4]dioxino[2,3-b]pyridine-3-methanol methanesulfonate (ester) (intermediate (40).
