Reaction Steps
In the same manner as in above (1), the objective compound was synthesized from 4-methoxyphenol and butanesultone. The crude product was recrystallized from water to obtain a milky white needle crystal product. The resulting product was determined for its 1H-NMR and IR spectrum to confirm that it was 1-methoxy-4-sulfobutoxybenzene sodium.
