2.26 g (7 mmole) of (2S)-2-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-7-hydroxycarbonylmethoxy-tetralin were mixed with 80 ml of DMF and 0.749 g (7 mmole) of benzylamine, 3.1 g of BOP and 1.47 ml (10.5 mmole) of triethylamine were added. The mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 6 hours then left to stand overnight without stirring. The solvent was evaporated off; the residue was taken up in ethyl acetate and washed with a 5% sodium bicarbonate solution. The organic phase was dried and the solvent was evaporated off under reduced pressure. The compound of the heading was obtained.
