Sodium hydride (215 mg) was added to a solution of (2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methanol (644 mg) in dry DMF (25 mL) at 0° C. [(1E)-3-bromoprop-1-enyl](tributyl)stannane (1.00 g) was added to the reaction mixture after 10 min. The reaction mixture was stirred for 20 h at 20° C. and then quenched with saturated NH4Cl (aq.). Extraction with EtOAc and drying (Na2SO4) of the organic phase gave, after concentration in vacuo, the crude product. Purification was done by chromatography eluting with petroleum ether/EtOAc 10:1 to afford the title compound as a liquid.
