Reaction Steps
To a solution of ethyl-2-(4-fluoro-1,6-dihydroxy-1,3-dihydrobenzo[c][1,2]oxaborol-3-yl)acetate (0.254 g, 1.0 mmol) in DMF (4 mL) was added sodium hydride (0.12 g, 3.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 30 min and then 2-iodopropane (0.19 g, 1.1 mmol) was added. After stirring for an additional 2 h, the reaction mixture was acidified to pH=2 using diluted hydrochloride acid and extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL×3). The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated to give the crude product as a yellow solid (0.25 g, Yield: 84%) which was used immediately without further purification. MS (ESI) m/z=297 [M+H]+.
