To a mixture of ethyl 2-(4-(benzyloxy)-1,6-dihydroxy-1,3-dihydrobenzo[c][1,2]oxaborol-3-yl)acetate (1.00 g, 2.9 mmol) and anhydrous Cs2CO3 (1.12 g, 5.84 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) was added 2-chloropyrazine (0.40 g, 3.5 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at 90° C. for 1 h and quenched by addition of water (15 mL). The resulting mixture was extracted by EtOAc and the combined organic layers were washed with water (20 mL) and brine (25 mL), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound as a yellow oil (0.74 g, Yield: 61%).
