Procedure

To a solution of 3,5-dichloro-4-[(10-ethoxypyrido[4,3-c]-1,6-naphthyridin-6-yl)amino]-N′-hydroxybenzenecarboximidamide (50 mg, 0.11 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (1 mL) was added pyridine (0.1 mL) and 2-chloro-1,1-dimethyl-2-oxoethyl acetate (0.016 mL, 0.11 mmol). The reaction was heated to 110° C. for 4 h in a sealed tube. After cooling to room temperature, the solvents were evaporated and the residue was dissolved in THF/MeOH, filtered and purified by reverse phase HPLC to afford the title compound.
