Step B In a manner similar to the method described in Example 1a, glycine tert-butyl ester (1 g, 7.8 mmol) was reacted with (3-ethyl-oxetan-3-yl)-acetaldehyde (1 g, 7.8 mmol) in CH2Cl2 at room temperature for 18 h to give [2-(3-ethyl-oxetan-3-yl)-eth-(E)-ylideneamino]-acetic acid tert-butyl ester as a yellow oil (1.9 g, 100%).
