Step B In a manner similar to the method described in Example 1a, glycine tert-butyl ester (1.2 g, 9 mmol) was reacted with 1-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxymethyl)-cyclohex-3-enecarbaldehyde (2.5 g, 9 mmol) in CH2Cl2 at room temperature for 18 h to give [2-[1-(tert-butyl-dimethyl-silanyloxymethyl)-cyclohex-3-enyl]-eth-(E)-ylideneamino]-acetic acid tert-butyl ester as a light yellow oil (3.5 g, 100%).
