rac 3-({[(2R,3S,4R,5S)-3-(3-Chloro-2-fluoro-phenyl)-4-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-phenyl)-4-cyano-5-(2,2-dimethyl-propyl)-pyrrolidine-2-carbonyl]-amino}-methyl)-benzoic acid methyl ester (40 mg) was dissolved in MeOH (10 mL) with help of slight heating. To the stirred solution was added NaOH (1N, 2 mL) and the mixture was stirred for 1.5 hrs. The solvent was removed and the residue was treated with 1 N HCl to make the mixture acidic. The white suspension was extracted with EtOAc (3×10 mL) and the extracts combined and dried with sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed and the residue was freeze dried to give a white powder. 38 mg.
