1-Benzoyl-3-(5-bromo-3-(phenylthio)pyridin-2-yl)thiourea (25.7 g, 57.8 mmol) and MeOH (250 mL). Sodium hydroxide (38.6 mL, 116 mmol) was added and stirred at ambient temperature for 8 hours. The reaction was diluted with water (250 mL), filtered and washed with water. The precipitate was dried in vacuum oven to afford the title compound (19.0 g, 96.5% yield).
