Reaction Steps
To a solution of the product from Step G (0.35 g, 1.09 mmol) and triethylamine (0.55 g, 5.47 mmol) in anhydrous THF (50 ml) at 0° C. was added methanesulfonic anhydride (0.47 g, 2.73 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 1 h and sodium azide (0.71 g, 10.9 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was evaporated to a residue that was dissolved in anhydrous DMF (80 mL) and heated at 95° C. for 3 h. The mixture was cooled, poured into a saturated solution of sodium bicarbonate (80 mL), and extracted with EtOAc (3×80 mL). The combined extracts were dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to a residue that was purified by chromatography (silica, 10% EtOAc/hexane) to give an oil (0.30 g, 80%): LC/MS (+APCI) m/z 346 (M+H).
