Procedure

A mixture of the product from Step A (0.31 g, 0.67 mmol) and sodium azide (0.65 g, 10 mmol) in dimethylsulfoxide (20 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 3 h, cooled to room temperature, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined extracts were dried and concentrated to a residue which was purified by chromatography (silica, 30% ethyl acetate in hexane) to give an oil (0.26 g, 68%): LC/MS (+APCI) m/z 423 (M+H).
