Procedure

The dimethyl ester (vii) was treated with bromotrimethylsilane according to the procedure described in Example 1, step 3, to afford the title compound: 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δH 7.79 (dd, J=4.8, 1.2 Hz, 1 H), 7.64 (dd, J=3.9, 1.2 Hz, 1 H), 7.17 (dd, J=4.8, 3.9 Hz, 1 H), 3.16 (d, J=13.2 Hz, 2 H).
