Procedure

In a fashion analogous to Example 90, 1-methyl-5-(2-nitrophenyl)-1,2,4-triazole was prepared, the nitro reduced, and the resulting 1-methyl-5-(2-aminophenyl)-1,2,4-triazole coupled with CMI to give N-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl)-2-(1-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)aniline.
